Welcome to the Metro Area Bass Club Mentoring Program

Since 2010, we've cast more than just fishing lines—we've cast hope, guidance, and opportunity into the lives of youth and their families across our community.

At the Metro Area Bass Club Mentoring Program, our mission is simple yet profound: to offer and inspire today’s youth through mentorship by professional bass anglers. We believe that fishing is more than a sport—it’s a gateway to discipline, patience, and connection. Through hands-on experiences and outdoor education, we help young people build confidence, learn new skills, and form lasting relationships with mentors who care.

Our vision is to establish a strong presence in underserved communities, creating safe, positive spaces where youth and their families can thrive. Whether it’s learning the fundamentals of fishing or engaging in other outdoor activities, our program is designed to bring families together and foster meaningful growth.

Each spring since 2010, we’ve proudly hosted our annual Kids Fishing Derby, providing rods, reels, and bait to every child who attends—at no cost. It’s more than an event; it’s a celebration of community, mentorship, and the joy of being outdoors.

We welcome youth of all ages and their families, and we’re committed to creating opportunities for positive interactions that extend far beyond the shoreline. Whether you’re a parent, a young angler, a volunteer, or a potential sponsor, there’s a place for you in our growing community.
